Dear Diary is a space for the conversations that are too often kept in silence.
Created as part of RFLA’s mission to protect, educate, advocate, and connect people with help, Dear Diary brings awareness to issues affecting women, children, and young people—including sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, grooming, and sex trafficking.
Through education, survivor-centered conversations, community resources, and practical guidance, we want to help people recognize the signs that something may be wrong and understand what they can do when they encounter someone who may be experiencing abuse or exploitation.
Some entries will explore how trafficking and abuse happen. Others will discuss warning signs, prevention, online safety, healthy relationships, reporting concerns, and ways to safely support someone who may need help. Most importantly, Dear Diary will help connect readers with organizations and resources equipped to provide professional assistance.
We believe awareness should lead to action—but action must begin with compassion.
Dear Diary is not about defining people by what has happened to them. It is about listening to survivors, protecting those who are vulnerable, challenging the silence that allows exploitation to continue, and reminding every person experiencing abuse that their story deserves to be heard.
